About

How many times have you wanted to learn about something tech-related? It could be anything - Final Cut Pro, photography, coding, podcasting, video codecs. Whatever the topic may be, Discovr is here to help.
Discovr is your one-stop place to enter into a whole new world of technology. The inspiration came out of the severe lack of information and resources on many of the more complex tech topics. There was no definitive place to go to learn a certain program, language, or topic. Discovr aims to be that place by offering an in-depth episode each week that will cover one topic from the inside out. We will have industry experts as guests on each show to help explain complex topics in easy-to-understand ways. Welcome to a new world of “Discovring” technology.
If you have any tips, or topic requests, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Host: Michael Mistretta
Michael Mistretta is a 15 year old tech-savvy teenager from Toronto, Canada. He has a passion for blogging and photography, and has a wild imagination that can dream big.
Michael originally came up with the idea for Discovr out of his own frustration with the lack of informative resources on tech-related matters. He decided to start a podcast to solve this gaping hole in the tech industry. This podcast eventually found a name - Discovr - and became a place where anyone could learn about technology.
Michael likes to consider himself a creative spirit. He enjoys video editing and filmmaking along with photography and web design. He loves music, and considers it his inspiration for life. He can be found posting something new to his blog, uploading photos to his Flickr stream, or twittering life’s important moments.
Michael is obsessed with well-designed technology with immense attention to detail. That is why his computer of choice is an Apple MacBook Pro. He is a happy PC switcher and continues to be amazed by the seamless integration of hardware and software on his Mac.
Over the past few years, Michael has left his mark across the Internet. To contact Michael or find out where he is on the Internet, drop him a line or check out his portfolio page.
Super Duper Tech Guy: Chris Thomson
Chris Thomson is an avid 14 year old blogger and podcaster. Also residing in Toronto, Canada, Chris is known for his geeky habits - coding, coming up with great ideas that never come to fruition, twittering, and, of course, Mario Kart Wii (he’s addicted but doesn’t want to admit it).
Michael initially met Chris in early 2007 on “All About Mac” - Chris’ flagship podcast. Having similar interests in technology and all things Apple, brought the two to meet in person, and finally birth Discovr in May of 2008.
Chris can be found on his trusty iMac coding or blogging away - clacketing at a stunning 95 words per minute on his shiny aluminum Apple keyboard. On his free time he is either playing Mario Kart Wii or watching The Office. And nothing can distract him from his work more than twitter. He holds the rank as Canada’s most avid twitterer, with an astonishing 13,000+ tweets and more coming each and every day.
If you want to contact Chris, shoot him an email or follow his trail of crumbs across the Internet.
